Smooth Kriminal, 87 Hot in Early Going

By Ross Fronk

April 28, 2010

Despite not recording a win last season, the smooth and steady driving style of Alan Krimes nearly earned him the track championship at Lincoln Speedway, in 2009. His consistency is definitely not in question so far this year. The Denver, PA native tallied four top-5 finishes at Lincoln, in his first 4 starts – 3 fourth place finishes and one second place finish. He briefly held the points lead until mechanical problems relegated the 87 to the ranks of the non-qualifiers and his first (and hopefully only) DNQ of the season, on April 17th. AK managed a solid top-10 finish the following weekend, which leaves him 9th in the track championship standings, 130 points behind the leader.

AK has not had much success this season at Williams Grove Speedway, but showed signs of improvement last Friday. He has two 7th place finishes – the other three rest in the middle of the pack.
